How will personal laundry be handled?
The facility will do personal laundry at no additional cost.

Is there a system to protect wandering residents?
All of the entrances are secure, providing the safest facility possible.

Does the Houghton County Medical Care Facility participate in hospice?
Yes. We work with local licensed hospice agencies to provide services within our facility for terminally ill residents.

Do rooms have telephones and cable television?
Residents may purchase in-room cable television service from the facility and arrange for private telephone service through a local provider. The facility also has telephone locations on all three floors that are accessible to all residents and adapted for use by the hearing impaired.

Can I call the facility at any time?
Yes. Our business office is open weekdays from 8 am until 5 pm. We also provide families with phone numbers for the nursing units and you are welcome to call at any time.
